Fostering teamwork, leadership and inter-personal skills
Our wide variety of co-curricular activities complement the curriculum and reflect Kormilda's commitment to educating and engaging the whole student. The mixture of individual and team activities promotes self-confidence and develops teamwork and leadership skills that transfer readily to the classroom and to academic success. Some activities can count towards academic programs such as the Community, Action and Service component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB-DP in Senior School).
These activities cover a broad spectrum of physical, cultural and service interests including:
Soccer, Rugby, AFL, Cricket, Basketball, Netball, Touch Football, Athletics, Chess, Debating, Toastmasters, Tournament of Minds, Kormilda College Choir, Senior Jazz Ensemble, Drama, the VET Music band, and the Vocal and Instrumental Tuition Program, Sailing, Scuba Diving, Duke of Edinburgh Award, St John Ambulance Cadets, Defence Cadets, and a host of Outdoor Education activities such as Abseiling, Rock Climbing, Canoeing and Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Initiative Challenges, Navigation and Expedition Skills.
