Two Year 8 groups went out to Interact at Tipperary Station on an Experiential Learning Program late May and early June. Rock hopping, navigating, mountain biking and hiking were just a few of the challenges as students built on previous learnings of appropriate decision making. Students interacted with self-concept, positive connections with others and developed foundational stewardship over their surrounding environment. The program was enjoyed by instructors, teachers and students alike.
I went on Yr 8 ELP this week and I enjoyed it soo much. I love all of it. I learnt that the boarders are so much fun and funny. I mostly enjoyed the rock jumping. Fantastico! | Cina
I love walking with the group and I really like helping people. A highlight was swimming with Sir at the water fall, laughing with Miss. I liked meeting new friends from day school and I love cooking and eating dessert. | Chad
About myself: I learnt this week to just keep trying learnt how to do a lot of new things. About others: I met new friends I normally wouldn’t hang around and actually being friends with them. This camp was fun and good. I found it great that I could meet new friends whilst being away from my other friends. | Anon
I really improved how I work in a group. The Yr 8 Experiential Learning Program was very fun and I enjoyed it a lot. It was really challenging but fun none the less. I learnt so much about nature. | Anon
I learnt a lot about how we can go 5 days without electricity, I think getting to know other people in the group was really good and helped me improve my leadership skills and working in a group. I enjoyed the whole feeling of being together with new people. | Emily Rees
